A Bit About Me
My name is Katie, my real name is Kasia.
I grew up in Poland, and moved to UK 13 years ago.
I have never study photography, and never finished any course etc. - I'm self-learned. Once photography entered my bloodstream, it is like a disease.
At the moment taking photos my passion, but I fell in love with all the aspects connected to taking the photo, from learning new things, through discovering new places that I've never been to, to meeting new, wonderful people interested in what I do, and editing processes to show exactly what I want to express in the photo.
Nothing that would matter without great feedback from people who really appreciate my images and customers who asking to buy my prints or people who asking me to take photos for them during their big days or special times. All of the above makes my heart, thoughts and dreams focused more on photography and maybe one day this will become my profession.
How it all started ?
My love to photography was born around 17 years ago, during my class at school. That was the time when for the first time I was exposed to a digital camera and basics of digital photo editing. Because at the time my life was not easy and I could not afford any camera, I didn't even think about it too much.
The real adventure started at the end of 2017 when during the walks with my dog I started to take pictures using my phone. Very quickly I loved photography even more and after a few months I bought my first camera - Sony A350. As long as the weather allowed me, I spent every minute walking and taking pictures. I was especially focusing on sunrises, sunsets and flowers. In May 2018 I've decided to upgrade my camera to Sony A65. After the purchase my favorite thing to do was exploring new, beautiful places and capturing unique moments in the photos. After some time I started to think about making another move and creating my own, separate Facebook photography page. I've had this thought fairly long as I was constantly blocked by the way I was thinking: "To create good enough pictures I need to travel far and find beautiful spots" and I wasn't sure if I could do that in my situation at that time. So the thought just stayed as a thought, and I focused on taking photos only in certain circumstances.
2020 - A BIG CHANGE
In March 2020 when Covid-19 caused lock down and there was just not enough possibilities to spend time as you'd like to, but since the weather at the time was encouraging to get outside I used this circumstance and walked or cycled to a local area and discover some of the new areas, capturing them in the photos. This is when I realized that you don't need to travel far to capture a beautiful photo as the beautiful places are around us. This changed my point of view and this is how Katie's View Photography was born.
